SPRING IS SPRUNG!!

Oh boy it is spring and the flowers are blooming and it's warm and the windows are open so there is way more to bark at now and I am very busy. A recent highlight here was Annie killed a squirrel (she is my hero) and brought it in to the living room to show AuntBeth. Nothing I have ever done could top that. I thought I was going to have to figure out how to call 911 cause AuntBeth sort of went into shock over that one. I guess that's all I have to report for now so just wanting to say hi to my mama and hoping she is safe and knows we miss her and love her!!!

Now what?????

This is too much. We just had a big fat snowstorm, there's not a rabbit in sight and so she wants me to look like one? I think she needs help. I am a lot of things but I am definitely not a bunny rabbit. In fact, if I ever encountered a bunny rabbit, I hesitate to tell you what I might do to it. Do I look cute in bunny ears? Well...sure I do. But that is beside the point. If she gives me a basket and tells me to go looking for eggs, I am going to run away and join the circus.

HAPPY GOTCHA DAY TEDDY

Today is Teddy's 5th GotchaDay!! Happy GotchaDay big guy - we are sure glad we found you!! You are a very good boy and we love you very much!!

I like to help him find it and I am very good at doing that but I never take the toy mainly because I always must have a ball in my mouth. I love to play with Trooper - he is my favorite park buddy.

My spring wardrobe...

Although it appears that spring may never ever come again, I have decided to at least start thinking about my spring wardrobe. I think this hat could work ... perhaps with a pair of khakis and some leather sandals. Or some white linen shorts. Ahhhh puts me in mind of mint juleps, truly a springtime drink. I am so fond of springtime. The smells, the mud, the melting of ice and snow followed by finding long-forgotten treasures in the yard. And there is the rolling in smelly things to look forward to. Annie and Teddy like to do this as well as dig up old stuff in the dirt. It will come, it can't be that far...

This is my portrait. Am I not the handsomest of the handsome? I have to confess that I am waiting for the girls to notice me. I have always been a debonair international bachelor type dude, but alas, I too get lonely for companionship with the softer sex. Perhaps someone to share my... well, share.... well I can't share my tennis ball.... or my toys..... well maybe a couple of the toys but not my food nono not my treats either... ummmm well ok I will share the park with her and we can runrunrun but she just has to have her own ball that's all sorry about that.....and also no chewing on my ears please.....

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Hey Happy Valentine's Day to everybody especially my mama who is very far away right now ... we are thinking about you. It is cold here today so AuntBeth put this beanie on my head and then she put a heart sticker on the beanie. She thinks she is creative and we just have to go with it so she doesn't get upset and have a meltdown or something cause you know how she is. She says we (me and Annie and Teddy) are her valentines. I sure hope that means we get special treats today. And I hope it doesn't mean we have to try to get her a present or something although we could try to kill a squirrel for her. We can't dig anything up because it's frozen out there and there's snow all over the place. But maybe in the spring we can dig up an old chewy for her or something.

My first anniversary

It was one year ago today that I came to stay with AuntBeth so now it's been that long since my mama's been gone. It has been a pretty good year for me here. I have lots of toys, good food and I get to sleep on the bed oh and I love the backyard where I can chase those nasty squirrels. We go to the park every day, sometimes twice. Teddy even likes me now and sometimes we play. I still love to play with my ball especially if someone will throw it for me. I love to runrunrun. I am 8 years old now. Some people think I am older because I have some white furs on my face but I am still young and can outrun and outplay most of the young whippersnappers. I am happy here but we do all miss my mama and worry about her sometimes and just keep hoping she's ok and will come home soon safe and sound. So I want to say HI MAMA we love you and miss you so much!!!

I am innocent!

Well, first, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I am kinda glad the holiday stuff is over with. It was hard having that tree in here and then there was that incident with the Christmas tree stuffie ...well a guy can only take so much before he has to take it out on a stuffie. And I'd like to point out that it was MY stuffie - NOT HERS!! And it was silly-looking but I am sorry I attacked it so there. It's a new year and I won't do it again, although I would like to say right up front that I do not have any of those silly resolutions. I am a perfectly good boy as I am and do not need to reform or resolve anything. I know there are those who might disagree but a guy can't help it if he sometimes has a little gas... and believe me I have no corner on that market around here and that's the truth!

I AM NOT AN ELF!!

So now she's making me wear a stupid elf hat. I really am not an elf although I do find there are a lot of interesting things going on around here. Today AuntBeth brought A TREE in the house if you can imagine such a thing. I really thought she had lost it and it seemed to make her sooo happy. Then as if that was not enough, she put lights all over it and then later in the day the little humans who sometimes come here (I like them because they give me treats but they do wear me out taking me in the bedroom, taking me out back, playing with my toys, putting me to bed, getting me up, etc., etc.) came and they hung stuff alll over the tree. One good thing though is there are some stockings hanging from the fireplace and me and Teddy have figured out that 3 of them have treats in them and they might be bones!!

Ok well Merry Christmas to everybody especially my mama who is far away who I love and miss very much - please be careful out there!

Who is this guy????

Bailey here. So she put this thing on me again and then I had to sit on this guy with the red suit and the white beard. Normally, I am a guy who is all about sitting on people, any people, but this guy was just a little too anxious if you know what I mean. I think he wanted to attach me to that big red sleigh he had outside and make me pull it or something! Fortunately, after a few flashes in the face and wriggling around, I got out of there. Whew. Then they made Annie do it but Teddy didn't have to because he's a big chicken so he stayed in the car.

December 1st

Bailey here bloggin in. It's been awhile - we been busy and stuff but I wanted to let eberybody know that my leg/paw is all better now and I am back to my old self. Me and Teddy are back to hunting in the backyard. Today Teddy told me there was a bunny or something under the deck but we didn't find him. But I have been a very good boy. It's getting colder and colder now outside. AuntBeth says she might have to put a coat on me. Yuck. I sure hope it's not that one with the antlers.
